I POSTED, "YOU CANNOT USE JACKSONVILLE AND PROGRESSIVE IN THE SAME SENTENCE", earlier on Facebook. Nothing is truer, for me. And as expected, I received “pro and con” comments from my Facebook Friends. From “I know many Progressives in Jacksonville” to “Jacksonville is not as bad as some other places I know” to “I could not disagree with you more.”
So, Lets unpack: 1) I did not post MY comments asking for your support or your blessings or your agreement. I could give let’s than a Tinker’s Damn if you agree with me that Jacksonville is NOT Progressive. 2) I do not work for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, so it is not my responsibility to be a Jacksonville Cheerleader. 3) Jacksonville is still very much Racist and even with a Pro Football team. I see very few changes in that. 4) Jacksonville’s religious community both Black and White are as passive and non-threatening as other White folks and Black folks in the Jacksonville community, and they act as if they just found out Jesus Christ was crucified. I don’t know if some of them who believe in the Bible, internalized that Jesus also arose from the dead. But that is how "un-engaged" they are with what is happening in Jacksonville. Speaking out against Racism and For Civil Rights and Against Police Brutality and For Equality...Not From My Pulpit! But let someone give out "pennies" as offerings to FIGHT CRIME and they are the first ones in line with their hands out, as if they are law enforcement officers. 5) Many Blacks in Jacksonville who should know better, have taken a Go-Along-to-Get-Along posture as if speaking out against Injustice and Police Brutality and Racism will sour their “good” relationships with their White Friends. Not only is being quiet a sign of complicity, but saying nothing will not make Racism disappear. 6) Jacksonville still refuses to have real conversations about Racism because those conversations make Whites in Jacksonville and Blacks in Jacksonville, Uncomfortable. Whites in Jacksonville ALWAYS want to tell me what THEY think is best for me. I call it “The White Expert on Black Folks Syndrome.” And they get their feelings hurt when I tell them to “Throw that stupid sh*t out of the window.” Then Black folks go along with the “White Experts” as if that is a way to make peace. White Experts, like White Privilege and White Racism is a White Arrogant Lifestyle which has permeated Jacksonville since time Immemorial. Fairness...Equality...and Civil Rights...are not even footnotes in Jacksonville’s history and its conversations...and you have Blacks in Jacksonville who would dare say, “I know a lot of White Progressives in Jacksonville." Well Whoop-De-Doo. You must keep them hidden. WE can join hands and sing... have prayer vigils... rally around art... go to luncheons and dinners ... have your study circles about Racism...and visit each other's churches all you want...all a “contribution to Progressiveness," but if you think that is ALL that is necessary to call yourself a Progressive, you are only fooling Yourselves and Blacks who do not know any better. Jacksonville is still Jacksonville...with its feet in 2019...and its head in the 1950’s and the 1960’s ... and IS STILL not Progressive. Jacksonville is the home of my birth and my late wife’s birth and my children's birth and my grandchildren's birth and my great grandchild's birth and many of my friends' place of birth. I went to school in Jacksonville...I attend church in Jacksonville and I fight Racism (and fought Racism) in Jacksonville. I reserve the right to Criticize Jacksonville Whenever I want and Wherever I want, until Jacksonville does better...and that is With or Without your help. And I certainly do not need your approval or blessings. The Struggle Continues.

donald trump DID NOT ATTEND THE FUNERAL OF ELIJAH CUMMINGS and quite frankly I am glad, and I am not alone. The press called it a snub. It is not a snub when no one wanted you there. The Repugnant Racist One also failed to attend Congressman Cummings Lying-in-state ceremony at the Capitol on Thursday.
No one misses a Racist, and especially when the Racist is the president of the United States. On this occasion of the Celebration of the Life of a Black Warrior and an Esteemed Statesman and a Noble member of Congress, no one needs to hear from America's Insecure Inadequate Racist president, or see him sitting in the company of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. Elected officials are referred to as honorable. In his remarks, President Obama said, "Elijah Cummings was honorable before he became an elected official." "He was a man of Noble and Good Heart." When you get right down to it, WE will never refer to donald trump as noble or as having a good heart and certainly he does not deserve the word honorable. Dishonorable is more like it. donald trump IS Reprehensibly "absent" when it comes to the courtesies of Life, and is "absent" as a leader, and a person, and a man. He IS "present " as a Despicable, Disgraceful, Detestable Loathsome piece of nothing. The Struggle Continues. Interesting how Whites quickly and proudly say their relative(s) served "their country" by Fighting for the South during the Civil War, when the only "country" their relative(s) served was the Confederacy, an Enemy government, created to overthrow the United States of America and "preserve Slavery."
What their relative(s) did was commit Criminal Treason. They would have been tried and convicted had South Sympathizer and Slavery Supporter, President Andrew Johnson not given all of the Confederacy "Racist actors" Executive Amnesty. I heard you say on TV tonight how appalled you were when you heard the crowd say last night, "Lock him up" directed at donald trump as they also booed donald trump. I am sick and tired of you White folks, who say the office of the President should be respected, at all costs, when you have a Disrespectful and a Reprehensible card-carrying Racist+ sitting in the Oval Office. Don't ever ask me to Respect a Racist. Of course, I never heard you talk about the Disrespect Barack Obama received on a daily basis and ONLY because he was Black. Even if you did, I --ME--never heard you say, "Respect him." donald trump Disrespects the Office of the President everyday as a Vile Nasty Repugnant human being with profound regrets to those who are human. His litany of derogatory comments about Mexicans, Hispanics more broadly, Native Americans, Muslims, Jews, immigrants, women, and people with disabilities has no end. Let me just zero in on his comments about Black folks, which I can address up close and personal. While president, donald trump called me and those who looked like me "Sons of Bitches"...said the country of my ancestral birth was a "Shit" country...said Black elected female members of Congress were "Dumb"... called cities which are majority Black, "cesspools"... and this list which is extensive, and these comments were made since he has been president. There is a long list of his Core Racist Attitudes before he was "put in" the position of president. It always gets to the point where White folks can say and do whatever they want to say and do to Blacks irrespective of their position and their station in life, and Black folks are supposed to tuck their tails, break into a "Doo-Dah" and say, "Thank you suh. Can I have some more of your Disrespect?" Just so we are clear...as long as donald trump is president of these AS YET United States of America, he gets NO respect from me...him or the office he cheated to get. When you give Respect , you get Respect. You have been a White person since birth, and a U.S. senator since 2010. Your White privilege and your 9 years in the Senate does not qualify you to "preach" to me about respecting a Racist. I have been Black since birth and have been the target of White American Racist Disrespect since birth. I do not Respect a Racist...or the Office he holds...Period. The Struggle Continues! I SPEAK QUITE A BIT ABOUT American History which I call Incomplete, Dishonest and Racist. Invariably-it happened last week-I will get a White person to come up to me after my presentation (with documentation) and say, "I enjoyed your comments, even though I disagreed with some of what you said." White America is so accustomed to hearing-Christopher Columbus "discovered" America...Betsy Ross sewed the first flag...Benjamin Franklin "discovered" electricity...and Francis Scott Key was "patriotically moved" to write the "Star Spangled Banner...ALL Lies, that when you tell them the truth with documentation, they don't want to believe the truth. It reminds me of the saying, "When you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression." Correspondingly, when you are White and you are accustomed to reading White American History lies ...learning White American History lies ...taught a romanticized yet deceitful White American History ...and you are taught Whites and Europeans did "everything" because (among other things) White historians and White textbook authors purposely excluded contributions by those whose hue of skin is Black, YOU THINK Truthful American History is a Lie. I AM A VETERAN OF THE AIR FORCE AND I AM ALSO AN OPPONENT OF WAR. Wars are designed to Kill people. In every war fought by these As Yet United States of America, Blacks have always died disproportionately, that is unless America was keeping us out of the military through Racism. That being said, the last thing you do when you ARE in an armed conflict, is abandon and betray your allies. Even if you are fighting in an alley, you do not abandon your friends and your partners.They look to you for support and to "have their back," like you look to them for support, and to "have your back."
America has abandoned and betrayed its Allies in Syria. Most of us do not understand some of the conflicts in and around the continent of Africa. I do not use the political term Middle East. We could not describe a Kurd from a Sunni from a Turk or the many different "groups" in that portion of the world, however we do know the Kurds are our friends, allies, and partners, which is all that is necessary in the conflict in Syria. So after betraying the Kurds, after not telling our allies and the military Donald Trump made a decision to withdraw and run, after giving Turkey the "OK" to invade Syria thereby creating a military and a humanitarian crisis, after exposing American troops to military disaster with no ground and air military support, after hundreds of persons, if not thousands have already died and will die, NOW ...Donald Trump wants to call a "Cease-Fire", sending Pence and whomever else, into the conflict Which He Caused... through His Abject Stupidity... to "broker a peace deal? One of the real negatives when a Democrat is elected in 2020 is he or she will have to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to solidify confidence in America's word with our allies, which is not now worth a red cent. No matter what the new President says or does, what is hanging over his or her head from longtime allies is this thought, "Supposed after your 4 years, America gets stupid and elects another donald trump. Once again, America's word would not be worth a damn." Which is a real possibility. The new President will really have to work hard to reengage our longtime allies and have them trust us again. That prospect will not be easy or short-term. And all because, America wanted and needed a Racist president. The Struggle Continues!
I REFER TO AMERICAN HISTORY AS INCOMPLETE, DISHONEST, AND RACIST. Of the many examples, nothing confirms America’s Dishonest and Racist History than the National Holiday America celebrates called Christopher Columbus Day, as this country romanticizes and deifies and gives credit to Christopher Columbus for discovering America ...EXCEPT ...Christopher Columbus NEVER landed in the Continental United States, and therefore DID NOT discover America. Aside from the fact Christopher Columbus was not an accomplished sailor, he landed on the Island Hispaniola (now Haiti and the Dominican Republic) where he encountered the Tainos Indigenous indians, a sub-group of the Arawak Indians. They were peace loving people and did not own weapons. Christopher Columbus immediately realized they could enslave the Tainos with no conflict, which is what he did. Most school history texts do not include Columbus was the first European to bring slavery to the New World. “Under Columbus, the Spanish attacked the Tainos, sparing neither men, women nor children. Warfare, forced labor, starvation and disease reduced Hispaniola's Tainos population (estimated at one million to two million in 1492) to extinction within 30 years.” Columbus carried many Tainos young girls back to Spain and Europe as sex slaves. American History gives credit to a LIE as a key part of its History, and teachers teach the lie at all levels of the Academic Arena...and textbooks include the lie. HOW do you give someone credit for discovering something they never discovered? You do it when it is political. At the urging of the Knights of Columbus, President Franklin D. Roosevelt made Columbus Day an official federal holiday in 1937. This decision was to politically endear the Roosevelt Administration to Italians and Catholics (Christopher Columbus was Italian and Catholic) and had nothing to do with historical fact. It is well known now Norsemen from Scandinavia, and the Olmecs from Africa, both visited Continental America well before Christopher Columbus. Question 1...With the absolute academic fact Christopher Columbus DID NOT Discover America, why are we still celebrating a holiday in his honor? Question 2...If you are a teacher, do you continue to teach Christopher Columbus discovered America when you know he did not? Question 3...Do you then teach the truth about Columbus? Question 4...How do you give credit to other explorers in American History for discovering anything, when there were millions of indigenous people already in this country, and the surrounding islands, and countries? Question 5...Parents, do you tell your young ones Christopher Columbus DID NOT discover America? You should. For many, myself included, Christopher Columbus' legacy is one of slavery and the destruction of people and cultures, not as a discovering hero. Slaver Trader and Murderer Christopher Columbus is certainly NOT deserving of a national holiday in his honor. The Struggle Continues! |
