"I see it as an extra response. I don't see it as necessarily divisive," Paul told chief political correspondent Candy Crowley on the CNN program "State of the Union." "I won't say anything on there that necessarily is like, 'Marco Rubio is wrong,'" Paul continued. "He and I don't always agree, but this isn't about he and I. This is about the Tea Party, which is a grass-roots movement, a real movement, with millions of Americans that still are concerned about some of the deal-making that goes on in Washington."
MY COMMENTS—First we must understand that the State of the Union is required by the Constitution which states that the President must "from time to time give to the Congress information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient." The Inauguration like the State of the Union are BOTH mandated by the Constitution.
So why do we need TWO responses to the State of the Union Address? WE DON'T! Are they mandated by the Constitution? NO! Is one response mandated by the Constitution? NO! Is there a requirement to give the Republicant party an opportunity to respond? NO! Is there a requirement to give the Tea Party an opportunity to respond? NO! Is this an issue of Equal time? NO! How about Freedom of Speech? Is this a Freedom of Speech issue? NO! WELL WHY?

Scarred Justice: The Orangeburg Massacre 1968
Most persons clearly remember the Kent State University killings but not the South Carolina State College killings. This is an excellent web site about this event and a preview of the documentary Scarred Justice: The Orangeburg Massacre 1968.
This is a must see and another tragic event in this country's Civil Rights Timeline that a surprising very few know about, and remember.
